Stevie Wonder

I’ve known Stevie Wonder since 1993. We met through a mutual friend Ronnie Foster Ronni was producing an album on me and we came up with a song that’s all as one of the tunes for the album. He thought that Stevie on harmonica would be incredible. Of course I said HELL YEAH! Of course I was a longtime fan, but never met the man in person. He was my big opportunity. I booked the studio session for 7 o’clock in the evening at 7 o’clock. I sat by the door waiting for Stevie to walk in only to receive a phone call saying he was running a little late. 8pm no Stevie, 9 nope no Stevie , 11pm no Stevie at this point I’m mad 😡 I’m paying $150.00 per hour for this studio. At 2AM we get a call saying he’s on the way. He’s escorted in the door at 3AM i’m pissed off but… there he was in the flesh one of my idols. He sits down at the piano and ask me to sit next to him and sing a part to a song he made up on the spot. At this point all is forgiven. He pulls out his Harmonica we get a sound on him he does 2 takes of a solo and he gone leaving for Africa in a few hours. I’m excited but also a lot poorer. Paying for Studio time and his fee for performing. I get a call a week later from his people saying he apologizes for being late and that the fee I was supposed to pay had been waived. My man!!!
