Frankie Beverly

I honestly don’t remember the year I shot this. I do remember it was in Oakland, CA. I’ve opened for Frankie and Maze more times than I can count. Going back to the early 90’s. I’m grateful to have met him. His passing was something that hit me kinda hard because I’m not sure if was a tragedy or a Love Story. I always personally believed he should’ve retired many years ago because that fire, desire and passion didn’t seem like it was there anymore and I wanted him to enjoy the fruits of his labor but who am I to tell someone to stop doing something that they love. In any case When he decided to pass the torch to a replacement vocalist and was doing his farewell tour he became ill and seemed like within weeks he was gone. He went from the stage to the grave. Maybe thats how he wanted it.
